If you’ve been to Myrtle Beach more than once, you are likely familiar with the area’s most prominent golf packages, but we are here to call your attention to an offer that is underexposed but on the rise. Sure, we love the Legends Package, the Rewards Package and the PGA 4 deal, but we’ve got a new offer that is as good your old favorites.

The Southern Swing, a 3-round package, allows you to choose among five courses and has the ability to provide a value-based trip or a high-end experience.

Impossible, you say?

Think again. The trio of courses that make up the base of the Southern Swing Package (International Club, Blackmoor and Wachesaw Plantation East) can be played starting at just $124. That delivers value you can compare to any package the area offers.

International Club is one of the Grand Strand’s hidden gems, combining an enjoyable and playable layout with consistently outstanding conditions.

Myrtle Beach’s only Gary Player design, Blackmoor Golf Club is an outstanding track, highlighted by one of my favorite risk-reward holes, the par-4 eighth. The 90-degree dogleg right provides the opportunity to drive the ball through a chute in the trees, allowing players to cut the dogleg with a 270-yard shot to the green. The course offers more, but I’d play Blackmoor just to hit that tee shot!

Wachesaw Plantation East has hosted four LPGA tournaments – winners include Karrie Webb (twice) and Grace Park – and it’s not difficult to see why the LPGA chose the course to test the world’s best female golfers.

The aforementioned courses are all 4-star layouts, but if your group is looking for another gear, the Southern Swing can deliver. The package allows you to upgrade and play TPC Myrtle Beach and the private course at Wachesaw Plantation.

TPC Myrtle Beach, which was Dustin Johnson’s home course when he played golf at Coastal Carolina University, has been one of the area’s best from the moment it opened. Golf Channel’s Matt Ginella ranked the course among his top 5 TPC layouts nationwide, and we aren’t here to argue. It’s an outstanding design.

You almost certainly haven’t played the private course at Wachesaw, and we would highly recommend the opportunity presented here. The Tom Fazio design is eminently playable and the par-5 18th, which finishes along the Waccamaw River, is one of the area’s best finishing holes. This is a chance to enjoy a private club experience and a gem of a course.

Best of all, the courses are located within 10 minutes of each other so there is little to no travel time, and you are minutes from Murrells Inlet’s Marshwalk. The combination of golf, location and value make the Southern Swing package one you need to consider.
