Myrtle Beach Golf Desk’s resident foodie, Mark Stoneking, loves to dine out – especially in and around the Golf Capital of the World, where its famed Restaurant Row plays host to many of the area’s most renowned eateries.

You can count one of them in particular, Thoroughbreds Restaurant, among “Stoneking’s Stone-Cold Locks” – where you can’t go wrong by choosing this venue as a post-round fine dining option.

But don’t just take Mark’s word for it. Here’s what two Yelp reviewers had to say most recently:

I’m definitely a fan of this place!  I loved the country-club decor and upscale feeling.  I made a reservation but that was clearly not necessary on a Friday night off-season in Myrtle Beach.  We were seated right away but the server took a bit to get to us even though there were only 3 tables seated in the room.  Once Orion arrived though, he made the experience fantastic!  He was hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had.  I like when servers appear to enjoy their job and don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them or they’re bored!  He informed us of delicious specials, made suggestions and was on point with all our Meg-Ryan-Like demands.  Our drinks were good and our food was pretty delicious.  I was surprised no one else was there.  I would recommend this place for a nice dinner in MB.

We made reservations for our 34th Anniversary. From walking in to leaving and everything in between was expertly done. We started at the bar for drinks and a shrimp cocktail. Chilled chardonnay, cold beer and 6 large shrimp. We then went into the dining room where our waiter, Drew, was excellent. He knew the menu inside and out. His recommendations were spot on. My wife had the catch of the day, Blackened Salmon topped with shrimp and crab. I had the Pork Osso Buco. Both were perfectly done and full of flavor. The restaurant brought out a plate containing a large slice of delicious cheesecake with writing in syrups saying happy anniversary. We finished with Bananas Foster prepared tableside. This was excellent as well. This is one great place with reasonable prices, especially at the bar for Happy Hour.
